Seaforth House
REINVENTION OF A MID-WAR BUNGALOW
To enhance the everyday living space and improve the lifestyle of its occupants, we shifted the orientation of this post war veterans house from the street towards the north facing rear yard. Its double height entry hall creates a thermal chimney capturing easterly sea breezes and the slow combustion fireplace to the living area heats up the whole home due to the beautiful overlapping spaces.

“Before the house was renovated it had terrible air flow & the children often had sore throats and colds. If a house is not properly ventilated, it can cause so many health issues. Good air flow can keep you healthy by discouraging mould, and using paint without toxins and limiting carpets can alleviate allergies.”
